BO’NESS: Marshall, Snowdon, Nyang & Campbell. McGregor, Gemmell, Donnelly & Cropley.  Kelly, Jacobs & Wilson.

On a date better known for the grouse shooting and the glorious 12th it will be another date the BU faithful will want to forget.
The game started with the visiting BU on the front foot and an early penalty shout missed by the officials only encouraged the visitors helped by a travelling support shouting them on and it wasn’t long before an opportunity came calling with Marc Kelly doing well to lay the ball off in the box only to see it cleared for a corner. The corner came to nothing and the home side quickly broke forward and into the box with the referee awarding a penalty for a push. Alex Marshall in the Bo’ness goal was alert however and produced a brilliant save from the spot kick.
Soon after Jeanfield earned a corner and from it the referee awarded another penalty this time for handball. Unfortunately the ball found the net going high into the top left corner with Marshall in the BU goal this time having no chance as Jeanfield went 1-0 up.
The visitors tried to get back in the game and soon had a free kick on the far left. A good cross was put into the home sides box but unfortunately everyone up attacking was asleep and failed to get on the end of it. From the clearance the home side earned a free kick which was swung into the box only leaving an easy take for Marshall.
The shout from the fans for some wide play echoed around the ground as it had done several times in the first half but the next opportunity was from a through ball in midfield, unfortunately slightly over hit and collected by the home keeper. The game continued with the home side looking what has to be said ordinary but the visitors not much better with passes going astray and no chances really either way. In all honestly the first half was only separated by a penalty not given and 2 penalties given 1 which found the net.
HT: Jeanfield 1 Bo’ness 0

Second half was more despair for the traveling BU support, players, management and all connected as Jeanfield went 2-0 up shortly followed by an argument among the BU defence not helping our situation. A double sub followed as Will Snowdon & Conor McGregor who had both been booked getting replaced by Jamie Boyd & Rico Quitongo.
Eventually a good move from the BU saw a decent cross into the box with Chris Donnelly on the end of it but at full stretch the shot went well wide. A final sub for the visiting BU came as Michael Gemmell was replaced by Calum Scott. After not a lot of action the ball eventually found its way into the net for the BU only for the goal to be ruled out for offside. With not a lot more to report other than the referee did seem to favour the home side but no excuses a poor performance resulted in a defeat.
