East of Scotland Conference “b” League
United were determined to start the first half playing with the wind and looking for three points to keep league position behind Bonnyrigg.
.Bo’ness started with that extra step or was it the wind behind them and it wasn’t long to wait when Ryan Stevenson swung in a corner that rattled the bar
Iain Syme was the next home player to ply his trade but the header fell straight in to the keepers hand. Bo’ness were well in control and couldn’t find that goal to ease the benefit of having the wind behind them. Plenty chances fell for the BU but Sauchie looked to have parked a bus for the remainder of the half
HT: Boness 0 Sauchie 0
.The second half got underway and with the BU faithful waiting on this tidal wave from the visitors never materialised and Max Christie was to make his first changes with Fraser Keast being withdrawn Allan MacKenzie and Nicky Prentice off and Marty Wright to bolster the front end. Keast who is just making his way back after a long lay off with an injury.
Sauchie were playing some neat football in the second half but didn’t bring any pressure upon the BU goal although some would say they were the better side but Andy Murphy never really had anything that put the goal under threat.
With deadlock in the final minutes as a few started to leave and the ref clock watching as we moved into added time and the BU with almost the last kick off the ball Craig Comrie. He set himself up with a touch of the ball before rifling it high into the net and a great way to gain all three points and put some daylight between themselves and the other teams chasing the top five which will make up to top division next season’
FT: Bo’ness 1 Sauchie 0
