East of Scotland Conference “B” League
Millfield Park
Kick Off 2.30pm

THE hype around this match were the BU capable to step up to a str9nger Haddington side after the record breaking result last weekend.

Early doors and a penalty after six minutes when Michael Gemmell was brought down in the box and up stepped Brian Morgan to convert the spot kick.  This settled the travelling support and team alike.

The BU were well on top and it came as no surprise when the visitors doubled the lead. with Ryan Stevenson getting a well struck shot in to the bottom corner.

These early goals contributed from a well structured midfield who fed the front end well and also stepped up to make the defence stronger to breakdown. After some hefty defending the home side would concede number three and so far Morgan was giving the “Garden County” side nightmares. But it was Chris Donnelly who cracked the post and went in.

Marty Wright should have made it four but for a good save and the other whizzing over the bar, then a corner giving.  Morgan the set piece man stepped up and with the support looking for a fourth but this time it was cleared. The following corner was met this time by Ross Campbell who headed home and took the BU in with a four goal lead at half time.

The second half got under way with Bo’ness having the early control of the period but a slice of luck and complacency saw Campbell clear a rare home visit to the BU area.

The Haddington defence were having to defend on the goal line as once again a Morgan corner finding Donnelly who seen his attempt go just over the bar.

An off the ball bad injury to Haddington and once former BU player JC Cropley crumble to the ground and a stretcher was called for and an eerie silence came from both set of fans and an all round clap as he was stretchered off.

Bo’ness continued the advances in the final quarter and had a couple of clear chances but the keeper was doing much of the defending as his defence looked on.

The visitors were soon on the front foot again ax Donnelly done well picking up the ball and turning his man into the box. The final shot towards goal was unfortunately off target.

The remaining minutes ticked by as a heavy home side looked more interested in the injured player than trying to get anything from this match what ended with the BU gaining a good three points on the road.
