The BU’s headed west to take on Lowland League side East Kilbride in the South Of Scotland Challenge Cup. This league is basically two leagues above Bo’ness and they currently sit second.
United travelled with new member of the squad Kieran Sweeney.
It only took two minutes before the home side were awarded a free kick just outside the Bo’ness box but it came to nothing as it went well wide.
This was soon followed by a tame effort from Brian Morgan on the Kilbride goal. One minute later the senior side were on the back foot again and managed to clear the ball only off the line.
As the ball went from end to end next was the home side to attack but the finishing didn’t make Andrew Murphy work to hard to collect a couple of half attempted shots.
Midway through the first half East Kilbride awarded a free kick just out side the box after Michael Gemmell clipped a forward. The kick was well taken but went narrowly wide,
It was to be followed by the Bo’ness attack and Josh Watt had a good cross cleared the the EK keeper made a great again to deny the BU scoring. Nearing the end of an entertaining half the home side thought they had a great chance but the shot went high over the bar.

The home side were on the attack from the centre but didn’t trouble Murphy in goal. Then from nothing the BU gave a ball away and the forward had nothing else to do except tuck the ball away.
BU’s had a whirlwind start but that quickly died as the home side got hold of the ball and tried to set the tempo it was Bo’ness who soon started to set the tempo.
But as they were just getting settled they started getting sloppy and basically handing the ball to EK and were on the back foot, midfield starting to move forward had to back track as an assault came on the BU goal.
The visitors were then caught out as they were claiming for a penalty East Kilbride romped up the park and made it 2-0 and basically this brought the visiting fans to look on in disbelief how quickly the match was lost
