Bo’ness opened up with a spark and tried to take control of the game and it only took seven minutes when a good shot from Mark McKenzie who had just signed from Crossgates during the summer. His first attempt was spilled by the keeper and McKenzie was on hand to tuck away the ball.

United was keeping up the pressure and attack, But at the other end the defence and keeper had to be alert as the home side were getting forward and midway through the half BU keeper Andy Murphy was alert to deflect the ball wide for a corner.
From the corner, the BU broke and split the home side up and this time a foul was committed in the home area and a penalty was awarded. Up stepped Brian Morgan to sweetly put it away giving some breathing space.

It didn’t take long though until the Humbug outfit were on the shirttails of the BU when a judged handball from Micheal Gemmell and a penalty awarded and was put away to haul the game back slightly

United soon regained the two-goal advantage. McKenzie was back in the firing line as he bagged his second with a cool finish and don’t expect to get an easier goal during the rest of the season.

Crossgates still getting forward and should have made it 3-2 but an early shot with just Murphy to beat drilled it by the post.
As the BU came forward and a thorough ball found McKenzie, and he was floored in the box and along came number four and a Morgan hat trick the match now beyond the home side.

The BU’s never took the foot of the gas and continued to pepper the Rose goal but unfortunately no more goals but chances were available.

Bo’ness opened up as they finished attacking the home end and a few fine saves were no stopping the BU from really putting figures up
The referee was soon in action as a handball in the box and the BU award yet another penalty.
Up stepped Morgan who once again put it away and earned the match ball with a hat trick.

Shortly after hitting his hat trick his number was up and replaced by Ryan Stevenson and at the same Stuart Hunter was replaced by Iain Syme in the middle of the park.
And it was changed again on the goal as from a well-taken corner, powerhouse Ross Campbell rose above the defense to bullet a header into the back of the net

Soon Crossgates were facing a harder task when a second yellow reduced them to ten men. It wasn’t over yet as a rash tackle on Devon Jacobs produced a straight red and now down to nine.
Bo’ness continued to attack and Fraser Keast, Mark Mooney & Campbell all had good chances to increase the lead

Max Christie will be glad his outfit got into winning ways and played the whole ninety minutes and never sat back at six
The first win of the season gets that off the back and now settle down again off to Newtongrange next week.
