Early start as the BU went ahead in the opening minutes when Fraser Keast found the goal to easy to score and put the home side one up.
Chris Donnelly was next to find the net with a fine header. As the one way traffic was going Brian Morgan was next to get his name on the sheet. Shortly afterwards Morgan made it a double when he scored as the visitors heads were already down.
Bo’ness now let the guard slip as Tweedmouth pulled one back. All this done was make a wake up call and it wasn’t long until the four goal coshing was back when Marty Wright struck number five. This was followed by a BU penalty when Michael Gemmell hit the deck, but up stepped Will Snowdon planted it straight into the keepers gloves and the second bite at the Cherry was scooped over the bar. Within a couple of minutes Ross Campbell netted with a header as the defence looked on
With the BU now out of sight and the pedal slowed down they still managed to score and it was Campbell who made it seven. The game hit a dull spell before it was fired up when Campbell hit the hat trick when his shot came down under the bar with the defence claiming it hadn’t crossed the goal line. Again the BU defence switched off as the Rangers came up field and scored easily. The cross bar was coming to the rescue of the visitors as I loss count on how many time the steelwork was rattled but Iain Syme was on hand again to net his fourth and the BU’s nineth.
Marty Wright completed the work in the final minutes when had plenty time before sending the ball home.
Bo’ness will probably not have an easier match this season but I was impressed with the scoring, Not taking this into account on how they are shaping up.
Now onto a midweek fixture against Lothian Thistle/Hutchison Vale in the first Conference “B” day at Newtown on Wednesday! This will be a tougher nut to crack and show how the BU are progressing so far.
