The sun drenched Camelon and a few burnt coupons by full time.

Bo’ness took and early lead from as Fraser Keast got to a Stuart Hunter header to open the scoring with Devon Jacobs done his part with a superbly taken free kick. Bo’ness 1 Tranent 0

Tranent were soon level after a rare error in front of goal allowed Devlin in to post the equaliser
Bo’ness 1 Tranent 1

Brian Morgan put the BU back in front as the keeper just couldn’t keep his shot out and Bo’ness are in front again. Bo’ness seldom make a couple of mistakes in front of goal and could they keep it going.
Bo’ness 2 Tranent 1

Tranent were looking for an equaliser and were now  making the BU defence work and the sweat was dripping from the players in this heat and would the players on both sides manage to keep it going as the water bottles would need filled shortly.

Morgan was causing a bit of a problem and he had a shot which should have been in but shouts for a penalty as the ball deflected for a corner.

Andy Murphy was now playing his part in defence as a defensive blunder allowed the player to beat the offside but Murphy was in place for it.  He was soon in action again with another great save as he parred the ball away that was goal bound. Time for him to take a breath as the defence were playing well and keeping the visitors at bay.

Atlmost half time or added time and big Hunter was causing a headache in the Tranent defence and again his header found Keast who netted his second and the BU’s  third.

Half Time: Bo’ness United 3 Tranent 1

The pace of the game was slightly cooler as the stanima would soon kick in and the BU could have been four but for the keeper saving from Marty Wright.

With the said heat both sides were still giving it their all as it flowed from end to end and now reaching for full time and a much earned pint as Keast made it four  This was the last real action in the game and the BU deserved victory.

Taking Max Christie’s league run to nine in a row and will hopefully be looking for ten when Dalkeith become the opposition at Carmuirs Park.. Carmuirs never used to be a good out but they have certainly took to it this time.

Full Time:
Bo’ness United 4 Tranent 1

Prentice on Marty Wright off

Remembering that Bo’ness are playing away at Camelon (home until the season ends) against Tranent.  So you could be right saying both are playing away.

Tranent are having a good season in the league and have secured the right to play in the new Premier League next season.  Sitting 4th in the table at present having won only 14 matches while the BU have won 15.  They have lost more than the BU where the BU have drawn.  But, the goal difference is almost the same.

United will be having nightmares knowing the last time they met Tranent romped home 5-0 causing gaffer Stevie Kerrigan to call time on his stay at Newtown.

What was more bizarre Tranent manager Max Christie and his backroom staff then left to join the space left at Newtown and he hasn’t lost a match at the helm winning all 7 league matches plus and also 4 cup ties,

Max will be hoping to keep the run going as today will be about fitness and stamina in this heat.
