Recap

With Bo’ness playing home matches at Camelon until the new look Newtown Park is opened next month.

Camelon handed a home draw in the William Hill Scottish Cup 1st round, if you remember, was after the BU was ejected from The Alex Jack Cup Final after the player registration fiasco or it could have been us.

Anyway back to the coal face and a trip to Newtongrange with the BU giving up home advantage and a nice set up they have a New Victoria Park and the kick-off is still 2.30pm.

————————————————–.

United started off to follow the result last week and the first goal came via Fraser Keast and it was laid on a plate by Brian Morgan.

The second came shortly afterwards when Morgan was again involved setting up this time for Mark McKenzie.
Morgan, McKenzie, and Keast were now causing havoc in the Star half. But no more goals followed and finished

Bo’ness came out in the second period and started on the front foot and it didn’t take long before the net was rocking again as Devon Jacobs made it three and United now on the home run in this cup tie
A mix up in the home defence when they couldn’t clear the lines and won by the BU forwards and Keast made it his second and United four.
The Nitten men were to pull a goal back via the penalty spot and although you have your hands by your side it is a penalty (new rule). Andy Murphy having almost nothing to do all afternoon, he was now set for a penalty. He chose the correct way and got a touch on it but it crossed the line. It was nothing more than a consolation for Newtongrange. 1-4
it wasn’t to go when McKenzie was upended in the box and the penalty couldn’t have gone to a more deserving man on his performance, Morgan who set up a couple of goals. He calmly sent the ball into the net and shortly afterwards the final whistle went and a comfortable win in the end

FT Newtongrange 1 Bo’ness 5

Max Christie will be pleased with the performance he has seen so far and will be hoping it can continue like last season.
.
Next up will be Oakley United in the Football Nations Cup, and we do believe this match will be played at Camelon.
