EAST REGION SUPER LEAGUE

LOCHEE UNITED 5 BO'NESS UNITED 2

Another horror show at Thomson Park, a place where Bo'ness just can't get a result.
Although going in at the break 3-0 down it could easily have been either 3-3 or 5-3 to Bo'ness but it wasn't to be with goal line clearances every time from the home side.
Paul Murphy and Zander Miller brought the BU back into contention at 3-2 with 10 minutes still to go, but as they chased the equaliser the back door was left open and Lochee took full advantage to cash in. The BU have now lost their first league game while Lochee will get a big lift from the result and hopefully start to climb away from the bottom.

PLAYERS FARMED OUT

Bo'ness United youngsters Neil Highlands & Dylan Robb have been farmed out to Linlithgow Thistle.

Allan McGonigal gives us an insight into his thinking on this

"The two boys have been great with us but I felt that to help them improve they needed to be playing on a regular basis and with the depth and quality in our squad I felt their opportunities could be limited.

After a discussion with the boys they agreed that we needed to find a Club who would give them the chance to play and after talks with Derek Oliver of Linlithgow Thistle, it was agreed that the boys would go there.

Of course I will be monitoring their progress, get regular updates and have arranged that they will be able to attend our training so I can keep an eye on them."

Bo'ness United v Culter

The BU's have drawn a home cracker against North Region Champions, Culter. All you can hope for in this round is a home tie in two weeks. Culter are currently sitting 4th in the North Region and have a strong Bo'ness connection as their previous manager was Bo'ness man, Andy Gibson.

EAST REGION SUPER LEAGUE

BO'NESS UNITED 3 BROXBURN ATHLETIC 0

High winds made heavy weather as both teams couldn't control the ball and with the visitors playing with the wind in the first half failed to produce anything in front of Mark Peat.
United went in front after 20 mins when Paul Murphy won a header in his own half and sent Nicky Walker clear who lobbed the advancing keeper who could only get his finger tips to it.
BU made the points safe with a fine goal at the near post with just 3 minutes left when Murphy scored. Then when the crowd was leaving Chris Donnelly scored the 3rd
in injury time with another fine lob.
It was a crazy day as the wind wasted what should have been a good match but all the BU will be thinking is it's 3pts and that is all that matters.
