NEWTOWN PARK ASSOCIATION

 First public meeting has great turn out


PMR Leisure were delighted with the turn out for the Newtown Community meeting which included members from Falkirk Council, Bo'ness Community Council, Bo'ness United, Avenue Bo'ness, Bo'ness United CFC, Bo'ness United Supporters Club and many other members of the public.

United head for Musselburgh to play against the side who just put five in against Sauchie. The team that cut the BU to pieces in the first game of the season. But the visitors are starting to gel so very interesting game again this weekend

Bo’ness United went behind for the fifth time in a row before securing the win in injury time against the league leaders.

Bo’ness should have been ahead after just five minutes when an Ian Nimmo cross was headed just inches wide by Stuart Hunter, and moments later there was an identical opportunity when Ross Philp crossed for Darren Cummings who also managed to head narrowly wide

Bo’ness once again had to come from behind as they earned a share of the points against a Broxburn side that started with four former United players.

United had the opening opportunity of the match when Robert Sloan had a free kick saved after Nicky Walker had been fouled, though the home side then almost snatched the lead when Fraser Keast shot wide from a good position.

Bo’ness made it back to back victories with a battling display against the league leaders and once again had to come from behind for the win.

It was the home side that were quickly on the ascendancy when within the opening minute Scott Christie did well to punch away a wicked Stevie McManus cross and moments later a McManus cross was knocked into the side netting by Aaron Whitehead.
