ST MICHAEL'S CUP FINAL

BATHGATE THISTLE 1

BO'NESS UNITED 4

BO'NESS turned in one their finest matches of the season tonight to win by four goals to one against Bathgate on their own park.

Goals from Scott Mauchline and David Morrison set up the first half with Bathgate pulling one back in first half added on time.

Scott Brown added a double in the second half and could easily have doubled his score. But the large travelled support stayed to the end to see Captain Gary Smith receive the cup. The first time the cup has come back to Newtown since the Spring of 1964.

On a sad note Bo'ness were relegated tonight when Oakley won 3-1 against Lochee United. But tonight's victory will help them get over the bad start to the season.
