Bo’ness’s season finally
came to an end as they
exited the East of
Scotland Cup losing to
Rosyth in a penalty
shoot out.
Rosyth enjoyed much of
the possession in the
first half and though
Derek Sinclair hit the
Rosyth post the visitors
deservedly went in at
half time two goals to
the good. In 17 minutes
Scott Logan hit a
screamer from all of 35
yards the ball finding
the top corner of Aaron
Stalker’s goal.
Stewart Haddow
scored the second goal
three minutes before the
break heading in at the
near post from a John
Kelly cross.
Bo’ness hit back early
in the second half when
Scott Brown
headed past Greig Logan
and with less than
fifteen minutes
remaining Jon Tully
equalised with a
low shot into the net.
Both teams created
chances to win the game
before the end but it
was a penalty
competition that settled
the tie. The Rosyth
keeper Greig Logan was
their hero saving three
of Bo’ness’s spot kicks
with only Jon Tully
beating him from the
spot. Aaron Stalker
saved one of the Rosyth
shots but with Kevin
Bain and Dean Ogg
scoring it was left to
Scott Logan to shoot
Rosyth into the semi
finals.
