+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

Bo地ess will be at home to Rosyth in the next round of the East of Scotland after their narrow victory at Thornton.

The BUs started well, scoring in 4 minutes as Scott Brown swept home a Stewart Kenny ball to the near post. After the goal, Thornton worked themselves back into the game and went close when Wallace shot just wide in 21 minutes. However seven minutes later it was Bo地ess who got the next goal when Kevin Donnelly crossed from the right and Scott Mauchline met the ball perfectly at the back post to double their lead.

Bo地ess were comfortable but they conceded five minutes before half time. Alan McAllister put a good ball through and it looked to be the keeper痴 ball but he could not hold it and substitute Grant Fraser took advantage to force into the net.

The second half saw Bo地ess dominate the play and they created numerous chances to settle the tie but the goals did not come. With just over fifteen minutes remaining Thornton were reduced to ten men when Ryan Kennedy received a second yellow card but the final part of the game proved difficult for Bo地ess. They struggled to hold the ball and Thornton found a new lease of life as they looked to take the tie to penalties.

Just before the end, Fraser shot the ball into the side net but Bo地ess hung on and were happy to hear the final whistle. Their reward will be the first game at Newtown Park since defeating Carnoustie in early March.
