Bo’ness
now need a miracle to
maintain their place in
the top League after a
disappointing draw at
Camelon.
As the
game moved into injury
time, Bo’ness were a
goal ahead but a dubious
penalty decision saw
Camelon draw level.
Kevin Mullen put the
BU's ahead just after
half time but it was
Mullen’s tackle on ex BU
coach Willie Irvine that
brought the
controversial decision.
Irvine went down easily
in the box and Graham
McLaren converted
from the spot to earn
Camelon a priceless
point.
Bo’ness
had missed a great
chance to go ahead as
early as the 8th
minute but Camelon
trialist keeper Steve
McGlyn made a great save
from Kevin Donnelly’s
penalty kick. After
this, Camelon created
and missed a number of
good chances though
after Bo’ness’s early
second half lead it was
the BUs turn to miss out
on opportunities to put
the game beyond Camelon.
Just before the end,
Camelon’s Brian Bell was
lucky to stay on the
park after he kicked out
at Scott Mauchline and
then there was the late,
late setback for Bo’ness.
It is ironic that the
man who is seen as the
main reason for
Bo’ness’s current
predicament should be
the very person who
might have contrived to
consign the BU's to the
Premier League.
