+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

Bo地ess scored a welcome victory at Oakley to maintain a slim hope of staying in the Super League.

The first half proved to be a dour affair with neither team dominating but with five minutes to go before the break Bo地ess went ahead when Scott Brown run past Willie Newbigging and beat Greig Maitland to the ball stabbing a shot under the Oakley keeper.

Into the second half and Scott Mauchline run in on goal only to be fouled by Oakley captain Robert Duffin. The referee awarded Bo地ess a penalty and the Oakley player was shown a red card presumably for preventing a goal scoring opportunity. Kevin Donnelly put the ball in the net but was ordered to retake the kick and he made no mistake and the second effort again whizzed past a helpless Greig Maitland.

The ten men rallied and pulled a goal back in 63 minutes as James Lister was perfectly positioned at the back post to convert Ryan Ewing痴 low cross. Oakley tried to get level but it was Bo地ess who had the final say with a goal in 82 minutes. Jon Mitchell lost the ball but did well to win it back and he released Kevin Donnelly who weaved across the box before slamming a great shot past Greig Maitland.

Defeat at Oakley would have meant certain relegation for Bo地ess and though they are still favourites to go down there is still the possibility of top tier survival.
