Bo地ess
were comprehensively
beaten at Central Park
as Whitburn severely
dented the BU's hopes of
staying in the top
League.
Whitburn
scored early when Ramage
run ahead of the Bo地ess
defence to play in
Andy Roberts who had
all the time in the
world to stick the ball
past Jon Connelly from
close in.
Bo地ess
enjoyed a good period of
possession but they were
unable to get back and
in 21 minutes they went
further behind. Darren
Moonie streaked up the
left before sending over
a dangerous low ball and
Andy Roberts was
well placed to knock it
in from a few yards out.
There was
action at both ends but
it was Bo地ess who got a
goal back in 32 minutes
when Kevin Donnelly got
onto the end of a
Stewart Kenny corner and
though Scott Cantley
made the save he
couldn稚 hold the ball
and Derek Sinclair
pounced to score.
Whitburn
made a good start to the
second half and
stretched their lead in
49 minutes. Alan
Flanagan was
unchallenged as he run
through to lift the ball
over the advancing
Connelly the ball
finding the bottom
corner of the net.. With
eight minutes to go the
points were safe for the
hosts as Gary Brown gave
the ball away and
Alan Flanagan
accepted the gift to
score his second of the
day.
In 88
minutes Andy Roberts
got his hat trick as the
ex BU player pounced
onto a miss hit Gary
Smith clearance to shoot
past Connelly and the
misery was complete.
A disappointing day for
Bo地ess and it will now
take something special
to get this team lifted
for the difficult weeks
ahead.
