Man of Match Derek Sinclair

+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

Derek Sinclair scored his first goals for Bo地ess as his double was enough to see off Edinburgh United to progress in the Dem-Master Demolition Cup.

Blair Lehardy was the Bo地ess mascot for the day and he saw his favourites cope well against a stiff westerly wind to keep their goal intact in the first half. The BUs controlled the game and might have even scored as they created a number of good chances.

As it was they scored early in the second half when a Kevin Proctor cross fell nicely for Sinclair to score from close in. Proctor nearly got on the score sheet himself in 64 minutes but his header from a Kevin Milne corner crashed off the bar but a minute later Bo地ess doubled their lead. Gordon Russell sent a free kick forward and Sinclair controlled the ball at the edge of the box before hitting a fine low strike on the turn to beat Michael Burgess for the second time.

Edinburgh hit back and Craig Neil rose above Jon Connelly to give his side some hope and Steven McIntosh nearly equalised with a shot that just missed the far post. The visitors worked hard trying to take the game to penalties but Bo地ess held on and might have even stretched their lead late on with efforts from Kevin Donnelly and David Morrison.

However Bo地ess got to the finishing line and will be pleased to get a victory in conditions that made life difficult for both teams.
