Bo’ness
made a poor start to the
New Year losing out to
Hill of Beath in the
Super League basement
battle.
There was
little between the teams
until 32 minutes when
the home side took the
lead. Conrad Courts cut
along the bye line and
in the melee that
followed Kevin
Donnelly tried to
clear but it hit off a
fellow defender and
though BU keeper Jon
Connelly caught the ball
the officials decided it
had crossed the goal
line. Connelly was not
happy about the decision
and was booked for
pressing his point.
At the
start of the second half
Bo’ness took the game to
Hill of Beath but they
were unable to get the
all important goal.
However Hill of Beath
did score a second goal
when Conrad Courts
forced his way down the
left to shoot home at
the near post.
With ten
minutes remaining Courts
blotted his copy book
when he was booked for a
second time and was sent
packing by the referee.
Despite some late
efforts on the Hill of
Beath goal Bo’ness were
unable to reach the
heights of last Saturday
and the defeat
represents a severe dent
to their hopes of
escaping relegation.
