Bo’ness
United won three vital
points as they defeated
ten man Tayport at
Newtown Park in the East
Region Super League.
Kevin Proctor was
making his debut having
signed from Larkhall
Thistle and it was the
new man who scored in
four minutes forcing the
ball home from two yards
out after getting on to
the end of a Derek
Sinclair pass. Tayport
created some chances to
get level but their job
was to be made harder
when Murray Urquhart
received a second yellow
card in half an hour
leaving the visitors a
man short.
In the second half
Robbie Henderson saw two
efforts rebound off the
Bo’ness post though the
BUs might have doubled
their advantage when
Kevin Proctor’s header
beat Frazer Fitzpatrick
but Tayport captain
Roberto Morris cleared
off the goal line.
Despite being a player
down Tayport made a
great effort but they
could not get back and
for the first time in a
long time the BU
faithful went home with
smiles on their faces. |
