Bo'ness United's Scottish cup campaign is now at an end after defeat at Foresters park, tranent. the home side got off to a flier, Osborne hitting the post in a minute with Devine just missing with an angled shot a minute later.

However they got the early goal when in 7 minutes a McPartlin shot was judged to have crossed the line after coming down off the crossbar.

Bo'ness tried to get back but were up against it when they went further behind in 33 minutes. Mortimer was short with a pass back and Thomas forced the ball past Connelly before shooting into the empty net.

Bo'ness did get a goal when Docherty side footed past rae from just inside the box and only a good save from the Tranent keeper to keep out Mauchline stopped Bo'ness going in level at half time.

The second half was largely played in the Tranent half but Rae proved to be the home side hero as he brought off a series of great stops that saw Tranent go through to round four of the national tournament.
