Bo’ness
United won this friendly
more comfortably than
the narrow result
suggests though any
victory will be welcomed
at Newtown Park at this
time.
Bo’ness
had only eleven fit
players when the game
started with Lee
Docherty lining up at
centre half. Murray Gray
arrived late and played
the final fifteen
minutes replacing
Captain Gary Smith.
The first
half was dominated by
the home side but they
only had one goal to
show for their efforts
with a Steven
McGlinshey strike in
15 minutes.
Blantyre
enjoyed more of the game
in the second half but
they were unable to get
a goal back and Bo’ness
might have added to
their lead as they
created chances late on.
However there were no
more goals and Bo’ness
will get back to the
serious stuff next week
as they visit Bathgate
on league business.
