+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

After a promising start Bo地ess United were dumped out of the Dechmont Forklift Cup by Bonnyrigg Rose at New Dundas Park.

Bo地ess were the better team in the first half and scored in 16 minutes when Stewart Kenny steered the ball past Craig Gyle from the edge of the box. Bo地ess had chances to increase their lead but they could not find the net again and just before the break Stewart Kenny looked good to shoot but chose to give the ball to Scott Brown who miss hit his effort in front of goal.

Bonnyrigg came back at Bo地ess in the second half but Bo地ess had a golden opportunity to increase their lead in 57 minutes when they were awarded a penalty. Lee Docherty took the kick but Craig Gyle dived to make a great save.

Three minutes later Bonnyrigg were level when Dean Walker got onto the end of a Charlie Brigain cross to head past Paul Ferguson. This goal lifted Bonnyrigg and in 74 minutes they went ahead as Paul Ferguson chose to wait on a long clearance reaching him in the box but he miscalculated and Sean Grady got to the ball first stabbing a shot under the keeper and into the net.

Bo地ess tried to get back but in the final minutes Bonnyrigg rubbed salt into the wound and it was substitute Grant Killin who scored two late goals to complete a miserable day for the BUs.

New coach Eric Sinclair will certainly have a lot to think about as he and his number two Paul McKinlay embark on their Newtown Park adventure.
