Bo地ess United started
the season poorly as
Camelon Juniors scored a
convincing victory at
Carmuirs Park. Bo地ess
played well at times but
Camelon always looked
the sharper side, with
Graham McLaren and Barry
Thomson in particular
causing the Bo地ess
defence a lot of
problems.
Bo地ess had the first
attempt at goal, though
Kevin Donnelly痴 lob was
well over. At the other
end Stalker did well to
block an effort from
McLaren and from the
resulting corner
McLellan volleyed just
over. Camelon were then
presented with a great
chance to go ahead after
they were awarded a
penalty but Stalker got
down to make a great
save from McLaren痴 spot
kick
The game then settled
down and Bo地ess were
enjoying a lot of the
ball and should have
scored when Hagan met an
Irvine cross at the back
post, but his header was
wide of the target.
Martin Mooney hit a
great free kick for
Camelon but Stalker got
up to tip the ball away.
Stalker was playing
well, though in 33
minutes he made a
mistake when he picked
up a throw in from Gray.
From the indirect free
kick awarded, the shot
was blocked but the ball
found it痴 way to the
back post and David
Barclay forced the
header over the line.
Bo地ess responded and
Mortimer headed just
wide from an Irvine
cross and Donnelly saw a
shot blocked. However
Bo地ess went further
behind as Gray was
penalised after tackling
Thomson in the box and
this time Graham
McLaren made no
mistake from the spot.
Bo地ess made a change in
the second half with
Stewart Kenny replacing
David Hagan. Kenny got
in a cross from the left
and it might have
sneaked in at the back
post but Hardie got a
touch that kept his goal
intact. An Irvine header
dropped just over and
Bo地ess were pushing
forward with Camelon
looking happy to play on
the break. McLaren and
Thomson were perfect for
this game plan this
being illustrated in 63
minutes when Bo地ess
created a chance to
score but the ball was
quickly diverted to the
other end and Stalker
had to look sharp to
make the save from
McLaren.
Bo地ess had no answer to
the Camelon front line
and three minutes later
McLaren was again
quicker than the Bo地ess
defence and he beat
Smith to the ball before
putting over a low cross
to serve up an easy
chance for Stuart
Cringean who scored
from close in.
Bo地ess were unable to
respond and Camelon were
never under any
pressure. The misery for
Bo地ess was compounded
in the final minutes
when two bookings saw
Gordon Russell sent off
and it was a grim start
for Bo地ess. |
