Bo地ess
United played a welcome
match against struggling
West side Kilsyth
Rangers. Rangers are
rooted to the bottom of
the West Region Premier
League and are already
preparing for next
season in the lower
league with new manager
Mattie Coulter ringing
the changes with players
having moved on with a
new batch starting to
come in.
Bo地ess
started well going ahead
in five minutes when
Kevin Donnelly played in
Stephen Payne and his
low cross was met by
David Thornton whose
first shot was blocked
but rebounded into the
net. The trialist
Bo地ess keeper got in a
good save and in 22
minutes the BUs made it
two when David
Morrison was put
through by Scott Brown
taking the ball round
the keeper before
slotting home.
Kilsyth
had a great chance to
score in 29 minutes when
they won a penalty but
the Bo地ess keeper got
down to save and the BUs
maintained their two
goal lead. Baird got in
an early second half
shot for the visitors
but it was Bo地ess who
scored again in 55
minutes with David
Thornton shooting in
from close in after Paul
Tweedie nodded into his
path. Four minutes
later Paul Tweedie
turned scorer with a
great shot on the turn
from the edge of the box
and almost right away
Scott Brown rocketed
in goal number five from
outside the box.
In 63
minutes Paul Tweedie
made it six as he
got onto a good cross
from Scott Brown though
a minute later Kilsyth
managed to pull one back
when Paddy Donnelly
finished off a good
move to score from close
in.
There was nothing at
stake but with vital
games ahead Bo地ess
needed the match
practice and can be
pleased with a decent
display with most of the
squad given a run out on
the night.
