Bo地ess
United relinquished
their hold on the Dem
Master Demolition Cup as
they lost out to
Musselburgh after a
penalty kick shoot.
Kevin Donnelly was sent
off in the second half
but the BUs did well to
come from behind not
once but twice though on
this occasion they
failed to come out on
top in the spot kick
competition.
Bo地ess
started the game well
and went ahead in 11
minutes after a Kevin
Mullen corner found the
far post where an
unmarked Andy Scott
shot home from close
in. Musselburgh settled
down getting themselves
back into the game and
in 26 minutes they
equalised when Wes
Mitchell sent a high
ball into he box and
Chugnoma Osazowa
headed past Robert
Burns.
A minute
later an Andy Scott
header went narrowly
past the Musselburgh
post but the home side
were on the ascendancy
and took the lead in 34
minutes. Paul Tansey痴
cross from the left
looked safe for Robert
Burns but the BU keeper
fumbled and Chugnoma
Osazowa was on the
spot to bundle the ball
over the line.
Musselburgh created some
good early chances in
the second half but the
task was to become even
harder for Bo地ess when
they were reduced to ten
men. Paul Tansey went
down easily from a Kevin
Donnelly challenge and
the Bo地ess player,
having already been
booked was shown his
second yellow card of
the day. For a while
Bo地ess looked down and
out but gradually they
worked themselves back
and in 72 minutes they
got a goal back. Paul
Tweedie turned his man
beautifully at the edge
of the box before
sending the ball over
where BU sub Scott
Brown reacted to
beat Musselburgh keeper
Ronnie McPherson in
front of the goal
However
the Bo地ess joy was
short lived as
Musselburgh regained
their lead right away
when Paul Currie found
Chugnoma Osazowa
with a cross to the near
post and the big
Musselburgh centre
headed in to get his hat
trick.
All
credit to the BUs who
never gave up and with
eleven minutes remaining
they equalised again
when Paul Tweedie
hit an angled shot that
looked to be covered by
the Ronnie McPherson but
the bounce deceived the
Musselburgh keeper and
despite getting a hand
to the ball he couldn稚
keep it out.
There was
no more scoring though
Bo地ess have done well
from the penalty spot in
recent weeks this time
it was not to be and
their name will not be
on the St Michael痴 Cup
this season.
