For the
second week in a row,
Bo地ess United
progressed in a cup
competition after a
penalty kick shootout.
This time it was the
East of Scotland Cup and
Robert Burns broke the
Blairgowrie hearts
saving the first two
spot kicks, and though
Mark Brash and Zpenek
Halenka netted, a
perfect four from Jon
Tully, Ryan McCafferty,
Scott Brown and Kevin
Donnelly won the day for
Bo地ess.
In the
ninety minutes Andy
Murray headed
Blairgowrie into the
lead in 34 minutes but
only three minutes later
David Morrison
slotted in at the far
post to bring Bo地ess
level.
In 59
minutes Jon Tully
got onto the end of a
Will Snowdon free kick
to put Bo地ess ahead
with a curling header
but in 71 minutes
Andy Murray was
again on target to head
home for Blairgowrie.
Just
before the Blairgowrie
equaliser, Zpenek
Halenka was fortunate to
stay on the park after a
two footed lunge on
David Morrison but with
fifteen minutes
remaining it was Bo地ess
United who had a player
sent off when Will
Snowdon was red carded
for an alleged elbowing
incident.
Just
before the end,
Blairgowrie keeper
Aruadiusz Szczygiel
pulled down Scott Brown
as he ran in on goal
though the referee
deemed this only to
warrant a yellow card.
However it proved
academic as the ball
whizzed past him in the
spot kick challenge and
Bo地ess were happy to go
through.
(Bo地ess
win 4-2 on penalties
Scorers: Tully,
McCafferty, Scott Brown,
Donnelly)
