Bo’ness
United scored a
convincing victory
against Dundee North End
in a win that sees them
keep Forfar West End
within reach at the top
of the East Region
Premier League.
The BU's
looked the better side
early in the game and
deservedly went ahead
after 31 minutes when
Scott Mauchline set
David Morrison free
and his run finished
with an angled drive
that beat North End
keeper Mark Stewart at
his near post.
Despite
dominating the rest of
the half Bo’ness went in
at the break with only
the one goal but eight
minutes into the second
half they extended their
lead with a Kevin
Donnelly free kick
that was deflected into
the net.
Bo’ness
were looking hungry for
more and in 62 minutes
they scored again when
Stephen Payne’s free
kick picked out Andy
Scott on the left and
Jon Mitchell got
onto the end of the
incoming low cross to
put in at the far post.
Dundee
North End finally got
into things with a Kevin
Garrick header at the
far post going just wide
and a Paul Clark effort
cleared off the goal
line by Will Snowdon.
However they did not
look like causing a late
upset and the BU's
thoroughly deserved
their victory.
Bo’ness put on a good
show to give the fans a
welcome Christmas
present and everyone at
Newtown Park will be
hoping for the same at
Armadale next week.
