+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

Bo’ness turned in a poor performance to go crashing out of the Fife and Lothians against a Penicuik side who looked hungrier and fully deserved their victory.

Penicuik dominated the early part of the game and it was no surprise when they went a goal up in 18 minutes as Graeme Cole beat Robert Burns with a low shot from ten yards out. Six minutes later Penicuik increased their lead after Will Snowdon pulled back Graeme Cole in the box and Ryan Gay slotted home from the spot.

Bo’ness made a good start to the second half and pulled a goal back with a powerful David Morrison header in 60 minutes. Unfortunately the BUs were unable to take advantage of the momentum in their favour and with twenty minutes left Penicuik broke forward and Martin Cameron stroked past Burns to regain their two goal advantage.

Penicuik looked comfortable now and things got worse for Bo’ness just before the end when Ryan McCafferty was red carded for retaliation after a nasty looking Ryan Gay challenge.

Three minutes into time added on Kevin Mullen headed in what proved to be a late consolation for Bo’ness and the BUs will have to improve for the big match next week when the Rose come calling.
