Bo地ess
United left Newtongrange
with all the points
though the home side
will be disappointed not
to take anything from
the game. Robert Burns
was immense in the
Bo地ess goal as he
defied the young Star
side, particularly in
the second half when it
was one way traffic for
most of the time.
The game
started at a brisk pace
with play flowing from
end to end and both
sides created chances to
take the early lead.
Burns had already made a
couple of good saves
when the BUs edged ahead
in 17 minutes. Andy
Scott got onto the
end of a Stephen Payne
free kick to blast a
header past Star keeper
Ryan Carnie.
Four
minutes alter Bo地ess
doubled their lead as
Scott held up the ball
before slipping inside
to Scott Mauchline
who drove into the
net despite Carnie
getting a hand to the
shot.
Newtongrange were
stunned as they had more
than matched Bo地ess
shot for shot but they
did get back in 38
minutes when Grant
Meaney headed past
Burns from a Joe Dunbar
cross.
Into the
second half and
Newtongrange swept
forward but they could
not find a way past the
Bo地ess defence where
Robert Burns made save
after save. However it
was at the other end
that a goal was scored
when with eight minutes
left Bo地ess scored
against the run of play.
Bo地ess broke up the
park and Scott Mauchline
passed inside to
David Morrison who
smashed in a shot via
the underside of the
bar.
Newtongrange did get a
goal back right on the
final whistle when
Darren Meaney shot
past Burns from a John
Dunn cross. |
