+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

Bo’ness got back to winning ways with this narrow victory over Penicuik Athletic. The BUs survived a first minute attack when Ryan Gay’s low ball to the near post was met by Gary Small but he shot wide of the target.

An early scare for the home side but it was Bo’ness who went ahead in 7 minutes as Scott Brown took advantage of Penicuik’s inability to clear their lines shooting past Billy Bald from eight yards. Bo’ness were looking comfortable but there was a setback in 24 minutes when Gary Brown’s pass back was intercepted by Martin Cameron and he slotted past the advancing Robert Burns.

Both teams created chances to get ahead but in 67 minutes Bo’ness regained the lead with Jon Tully firing in from the penalty spot after ex BU Brian Foster downed Kevin Donnelly in the box. Penicuik tried to get back but Bo’ness held out to win three valuable points.

Next week another home game beckons with Armadale Thistle the visitors and Bo’ness will be looking for another victory to keep the pressure on the teams above them
