+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

Bo’ness went down to Musselburgh in a bad tempered game that saw Kevin Donnelly and Scott Mauchline sent off with Musselburgh’s Chris King also dismissed.

After going ahead in 7 minutes when Scott Brown volleyed home from a Morrison cross, Bo’ness conceded in 11 minutes as Kenneth Munro’s early shot found the back of the net. From then on Bo’ness were second best and it was no surprise when they went behind in 31 minutes as a Ross Barnes angled lob found the opposite corner with Robert Burns well beaten.

There was hope when Kevin Mullen headed home from a great Stephen Payne free kick cross six minutes intro the second half but there was a setback as Kevin Donnelly received his second booking of the match and was sent off.

Musselburgh were quick to take advantage, going ahead in 58 minutes when Mark Quinn found the net with a low drive from just inside the box and it was going to be difficult for the BUs.

The game became unsavoury when, with Musselburgh’s McManus lying injured in his own box, a barney broke out in the centre circle behind the referees back. There was no action taken but it set the tone for the rest of the match and Musselburgh’s King was shown a second yellow card just before the end and deep into stoppage time Scott Mauchline received a straight red card after a clash with Turnbull at the corner flag.

Bo’ness must now pick themselves up as they face a quick return to play Dundonald Bluebell next Saturday at Moorside Park
