Bo’ness
United won a hard fought
victory at Forfar which
brought West End’s
unbeaten League run to
an end and sees the BU's
maintain their position
at the business end of
the Premier League.
The first
half was played at a
frantic pace with no
side dominating the
game. Garry Mackenzie
missed a good chance for
the home side and a
Scott Mauchline shot was
deflected wide of the
Forfar post.
Bo’ness
missed a chance to go
ahead in 52 minutes when
they were awarded a
penalty but Forfar
keeper Scott Lindsay
saved Will Snowdon’s
effort from the spot.
However four minutes
later Bo’ness did score
after Chris Brown’s ball
into the box was flicked
home by
David
Morrison.
Forfar worked hard to
get back in but the BU
rearguard was reluctant
to give anything away
though Grant Lawson saw
his cross bounce off the
top of the Bo’ness bar.
Bo’ness also created
chances to put the game
beyond Forfar with
Stephen Payne having a
couple of efforts on the
home goal. However the
BU's were unable to
convert the
opportunities created
but delighted to take
maximum points from a
difficult fixture. |
