Bo地ess
United had to be happy
with a share of the
points in their first
home League match of the
season against Dundonald
Bluebell.
Martin
Graham
looked offside as he
pounced onto Paul
McQuade痴 through ball
but the whistle didn稚
come and the early shot
beat Robert Burns to
give the visitors the
lead. Bo地ess looked a
bit shell shocked for a
while but they worked
themselves back into the
game and Paul Burns came
closest to equalising
with a shot that pulled
just wide of the target.
Dundonald
were full of energy
giving the BU defence
plenty to think about
and Scott Lawrie was
unlucky to see his shot
crash off the bar before
they doubled their lead
in 38 minutes when
Paul McQuade weaved
his way through before
chipping over Robert
Burns.
Bo地ess
made changes for the
start of the second half
and were soon pushing
forward with Stephen
Payne and David Morrison
seeing good chances go a
begging. The game went
through a ragged spell
as Dundonald struggled
to keep the ball but
Bo地ess failed to make
the most of the
opportunities presented
to them. However the BUs
stuck to the task and
finally got a goal back
in 76 minutes when
Scott Brown received
a pass from Kevin
Donnelly before angling
a shot past Dundonald
keeper Ryan Connor.
Three minutes later it
was all square and the
same players combined
this time Scott Brown
smashing Kevin
Donnelly痴 pass into the
net from close in.
Dundonald
showed some character
and were soon back in
front when a deflected
cross landed nicely for
Gary Westwater
who slotted into the net
from a few yards out.
The visitors must have
thought they had done
enough to win the game
but this time it was
Bo地ess who showed their
mettle and Scott
Mauchline found
space in a busy six yard
box to shoot into the
net.
A draw was probably a
fair result though
Bo地ess will be
concerned with a
disappointing first half
performance though they
bounced back in the
second with a determined
never say die display |
