Bo地ess
made a solid start to
their Premier League
campaign with a hard
fought victory at
Rosyth.
Playing
with a strong wind at
their backs the BUs went
ahead in 10 minutes when
a Stephen Payne
cross deceived Rosyth
keeper Greg Logan and
went in off the far
post.
Bo地ess
pushed on, trying to
take advantage of the
elements in their favour
though they did not have
it all their own way as
Rosyth got up the park
to test the BU defence.
Both sides created
chances but a minute
before half time Bo地ess
stretched their lead
when Scott Mauchline
controlled a Kevin
Donnelly cross before
sticking the ball past
Greg Logan from twelve
yards.
In the
second half, Bo地ess
survived early Rosyth
pressure but only a
Scott Logan goal line
clearance stopped Paul
Burns opening his
account for the BUs.
Bo地ess probably played
better into the wind but
they missed a great
chance to kill off the
game when Rosyth keeper
Greg Logan saved a
Stephen Payne penalty in
71 minutes. Rosyth took
advantage of their
keeper痴 heroics when in
84 minutes they
pulled a goal
back as Kris
Vaughan got onto the
end of a Ross Vinters
cross. Right after the
goal, Rosyth captain
Stewart Haddow managed
to get himself sent off
and Bo地ess spoiled
Rosyth痴 hopes for a
comeback in the final
minute when Stephen
Payne shot low past
Greg Logan.
A good start for
Bo地ess痴 race for the
flag but with a marathon
season ahead it will be
a few games before we
will get a measure of
the BUs chances reach
the finishing line ahead
of the rest. |
