Bo地ess
United turned in a good
performance to win a
fine victory against
Bathgate Thistle in
their third match of the
East Region South League
Cup venture. Camelon痴
win at Armadale make
them the likely section
winners but Bo地ess will
be pleased to get off
the mark with convincing
display.
After a
quiet start to the game
Bo地ess took the lead in
ten minutes when
Donnelly turned Neill on
the right and his low
cross was perfectly met
by Morrison who
hammered the ball past
ex BU keeper Carlin.
Bathgate
tried to get back at
Bo地ess but they could
not penetrate the
Bo地ess defence and it
was the BU's who
extended their lead in
30 minutes. Donnelly痴
cross from the left
overshot the goal but G
Brown was on hand to put
the ball back into the
danger area and
Mauchline nipped in
to score at the near
post. Bo地ess were
playing with some
confidence and now
looked to be in full
control of the
proceedings.
At the
start of the second half
Bathgate moved up the
park looking to get an
early boost but in 50
minutes the game looked
to be beyond them as
Bo地ess stretched their
lead even further. C
Brown benefited from a
cleared Payne corner but
with his shot looking to
cause little harm S
Brown won the ball
on the six yard line
holding off the Bathgate
defenders before
shooting past Carlin
Bo地ess
were cruising and
comfortable in dealing
with anything Bathgate
had to offer. Bathgate
to their credit never
gave up and continued to
try to get themselves
back into things.
It was Bo地ess痴 day and
though they are unlikely
to progress in this
competition hopefully
this victory will bring
confidence for the final
two League Cup games
before the start of the
League campaign |
