+ Match Report (By John Spowart)

Bo地ess wound up their pre season friendlies with a defeat against an impressive looking Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. Rob Roy were promoted to the West Region Premier League and they could be a force to be reckoned with in the top league in the West.

Kirkintilloch struck early going ahead in 14 minutes when Chang got onto the end of a Vaugh cross to head in at the near post. Things got worse for Bo地ess in 28 minutes when they went further behind this time conceding a twenty yard low shot from Campbell.

Bo地ess were struggling to get to grips with the game and only had a couple of speculative shots from distance to show for their efforts.

At the start of the second half the BUs looked a bit better and they were putting the home defence under pressure for the first time in the game. Magennis failed to hold a Donnelly shot hit from the edge of the area but his defence bailed him out with a scrambled clearance.

Magennis redeemed himself as he held onto a Payne effort but in 61 minutes Donnelly came closest to getting a goal for Bo地ess as he smashed a spectacular volley off the Kirkintilloch cross bar.

However it was the home side who got the next goal to stretch their lead even further. A Bo地ess goal kick was intercepted by Kirkintilloch and the BU defence was caught out as Broadfoot zipped forward before rounding Stalker to slot the ball home.

Bo地ess tried to get a goal back but they could not make the breakthrough and had to suffer a few more scares at the back before a difficult night was finally brought to an end

The early victories did not make Bo地ess a great team and equally this defeat does not mean that they are suddenly a bad team. There are players yet to come back with hopefully a few new faces yet to appear and the important test for the side will start on Saturday with the visit to Camelon.
