Bo地ess
made it three in a row
as they continued their
preparations for the new
season with a victory
against Dunipace
Juniors.
A
blustery west wind made
conditions difficult for
both sides and spoiled
the game a bit for the
spectators though the
home support were happy
to see the BUs go ahead
in nine minutes. Steven
Payne smacked a free
kick against the
Dunipace bar and the
defence seemed to
hesitate and as the ball
come back in but
Kevin Donnelly was
alert, and though his
first shot was parried
by Dunipace keeper Craig
Cowan he made no mistake
with the rebound forcing
into the net.
Donnelly
might have got a second
but he headed past from
a Payne corner and
Bo地ess were enjoying
the lion痴 share of the
possession. Chris
Cairney sent in a free
kick cross for Dunipace
but Michael Collin saw
his shot on goal
deflected for a corner.
Payne had
a couple of efforts on
the Dunipace goal and
just before the break a
great pass found Kevin
Mullen on the left but
the cross was blocked
away for a corner.
Bo地ess
continued to look the
better side in the
second half and extended
their lead in 58
minutes. Payne slipped a
pass through to
Mullen who slid in
an angled shot from the
left, a goal very like
his effort against
Kilsyth on Wednesday.
Both
sides made full use of
the players available to
them with players keen
to get a run out before
the season starts in a
week痴 time. The game
looked over as a contest
though in 76 minutes
Payne almost did the
spectacular as he saw
the Dunipace keeper of
the line but his shot
from the centre circle
just missed the target.
Dunipace
had not created too many
chances but with ten
minutes remaining they
came close to getting
goal back. Gregg Smith
headed down an Allan
Moffat free kick but
Ross Muir just missed
the ball and the Bo地ess
goal was still intact.
Bo地ess now have only
one game remaining
before the season starts
for real with the final
warm up on Wednesday
night at Kirkintilloch. |
