Bo’ness United won a valuable three points to keep themselves in touch with the teams at the top of the table.

The BUs scored in 11 minutes after Chris Donnelly knocked an Ian Nimmo corner back across the goal face and Nicky Walker tapped in at the post. St Andrews tried to get back but they came up against a stuffy defence and an on form goalkeeper.

This work proved itself as Bo’ness extended their lead in 31 minutes. Lee Duffy played a pass to Nicky Walker and his left foot cross picked out Chris Donnelly who flashed a great header into the St Andrews net. Again St Andrews worked to get back at Bo’ness but they couldn’t find a way through.

Bo’ness had played some good stuff in the first half but after the break the visitors enjoyed a lot of the possession. However again they couldn’t get that important final touch although with ten minutes remaining only a fabulous save by Scott Christie on his goal line stopped Ricky Patrick pulling a goal back for his side.

St Andrews deserved at least a goal but just on the whistle a slip up by Kevin McMullan in front of his own goal allowed Stephen Tarditi to score a flattering third goal for Bo’ness
