Bo'ness First Half: Scott Christie, Will Snowdon, Stewart Devine, Stuart Hunter, Scott Gibb, Ian Nimmo, Kevin Watt, Lee Duffy, Stephen Tarditi, Martin Ure, Nicky Walker (Jay Shields)
Bo’ness United experienced a strong team in Airdrie United in a closed door friendly and it was a good work out for Paul Ronald's men as he used the full squad available during the match.
The midfield were cancelling each other out and the first real chance came after 8 minutes when a Nicky Walker free kick after Will Snowdon had been brought down saw Martin Ure header go just over.
Within a minute the BU went behind after a cross from the right couldn't be cleared and broke nicely for the Airdrie forward who tucked it away.
On the half hour Ure unleashed Ian Nimmo with a powerful drive down the wing but his cross was just to high for the racing in forwards.
Just before the break Snowdon slipped up the right flank and his clear cross was meet by Ure and it just shot by with the keeper beaten.
Right on half time a great one two between Nimmo and Ure beat the offside but his finishing shot was cleared by the keeper.
Half Time: Airdrie 1 Bo'ness 0
Second Half Team: Jordan Allan, Graham Guy, Graeme McLaren, Steve Reilly, Steven Bennett, Jay Shields, Jamie Hay, Chris Donnelly, Nicky Walker, John Stewart, Kevin Watt.
within minutes of the restart Jordan Allan was made to work and saved the ball with his legs and front the resulting clearance which saw Jamie Hay break up the right and perfectly timed cross found the open Kevin Watt who calmly placed the ball by the keeper to make it 1-1.
On the hour mark Guy sent in a cross from the right to the near post and the keeper managed to scrabble clear with his feet. Two minutes after this a Steven Bennett header was goal bound but deflected of his own player before being cleared.
With 15 minutes remaining a fast reacting Airdrie forward split the BU defence who were looking for offside and he took no chances as the rifled the ball into Allan's far corner to go 2-1 up. A minute later they almost made it 3 but somehow the ball was cleared off the line.
BU again broke from the resulting play and a quick thinking John Stewart caught eye the keeper of his line and a long chip just sailed by the post of the stranded Airdrie number 1.
Right on full time a nice drive forward and a 20 yard crack shot low across the surface a nestled in the corner of the out stretched BU keeper. FULL TIME 3-1
