Bo'ness United dropped their first points after a scoring draw against Bathgate Thistle at Newtown Park.
During the fist half, Bo'ness created a number of chances but could not make the breakthrough. A Lee Duffy shot went wide while John Stewart shot over the Bathgate bar. At the other end, Scott Christie saved from a Brian Fairbairn free kick shot and Gary McCulloch shot high over the bar.
Six minutes before the break, Stuart Hunter miss hit in front of goal from a Graeme McLaren corner and it was not until ten minutes into the second half that Bo'ness got the goal they deserved. Nicky Walker received the ball wide on the right from a Lee Duffy and his diagonal cross picked out John Stewart who headed in at the far post.
Unfortunately for Bo'ness only seven minutes later the good work was undone with an avoidable goal. Stuart Hunter played a short free kick to Graeme McLaren but his pass back to Scott Christie lacked pace as Scott Christie rushed out to clear. Unfortunately for Bo'ness, Christie's attempted clearance cannoned off Ian McSween who had chased the ball in and it broke nicely for the Bathgate forward to put into the empty net.
It was a costly mistake by the BU defence who had looked solid, matching anything Bathgate had to offer. Neither side were able to get a winning goal and it was definitely two lost points for Bo'ness although they remain at the top of the table.
